From the Chairman’s Desk
It has been the thrust of surgery over the last several decades to ensure safe cure with minimal trauma to the patient. The advent of Minimal Access Surgery achieves this aim ideally and optimally, minimizing pain, hospitalization, medication, incision and scarring, and ensuring early return to work and family. Minimal Access Surgery has achieved total acceptance and performance in India. It is the purpose of the Center of Excellence for Minimal Access Surgery Training (CEMAST) to ensure that the advance and progress of MAS in India and neighboring Countries continues in a structured manner.
The Ethos of the Center:
Mrs. Sybill Storz wants, that while it is financed by an educational grant from Karl Storz Tuttlingen, it is an autonomous body run by Surgeons for Surgeons, a not for commerce, not for profit purely academic initiative.
CEMAST is much more than an excellently equipped state-of-the-art training facility. CEMAST has its own special ethos, unique vision and thrust to ensure a foundation of safe and structured Minimal Access Surgery training in every surgical discipline.
CEMAST is all embracing in its Diversity- the training in every possible aspect of MAS be it General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Thoracic, Paediatric Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Flexible Endoscopy, procedure based advanced MAS, 3D MAS, and more. CEMAST is perhaps the only MAS Training Center in the world to offer this width of diversity.
State of the art equipment including 3D systems, instrumentation and facilities that are generously funded by Karl Storz GmbH.
